KIGALI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Tourism services continue to operate normally in Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park where endangered mountain gorillas live following Friday night's attack in the region, according to the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

Eight residents were killed by armed attackers in northern Rwanda's Musanze district, where the park is located, local media reported.

The attackers, who were dressed in civilian attire and armed with crude weapons including guns and knives, attacked Kinigi sector, which is a gateway to the park, at around 9:30 p.m. local time, according to the report.

All other national parks and attractions in Rwanda also operate normally, said RDB, a government agency in charge of economic development, in a statement.
