YANGON, July 3 (Xinhua) -- A total of 34 more Myanmar refugees have been brought back to homeland from Thailand on the second day of repatriation of the fourth batch of refugees, according to the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.

The refugees mainly from Ban Nai Soi camp returned through Maese gate in Kayah state and was welcome back by Kayah State Chief Minister U L Paung Sho on Tuesday.

They were being arranged for sending back to their respective homes with humanitarian and financial assistance provided by the authorities.

The repatriation of refugees will continue on Wednesday from other refugee camps.

A total of 157 Myanmar refugees mainly from Nu Po refugee camp had been brought back to homeland from Thailand through Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge in Myawaddy border town in southeastern Kayin state on Monday when the repatriation process of the fourth batch started.

The Myanmar government has been working to ensure the return of more than 100,000 Myanmar refugees taking shelter in nine camps on the Thai-Myanmar border. They were being sent back to their homeland in batches since the first on Oct. 26, 2016 on voluntary basis.

The Myanmar refugees, who fled domestic conflicts since decades ago, were being covered by a short-and long-term program as part of the undertakings of Myanmar's national reconciliation and peace process, reports said.
