WUHAN, China, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- After one-month adaption, 29 European warm-blooded horses used in Military World Games are ready for training.

Last month, these horses flew from Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands to Wuhan Business University, which is the first Chinese college with social sports major, like horse racing industry management. The school will host the equestrian competitions of the Games.

The dean of the horses racing industry management, Zhang Liang said, these horses are easy to communicate and at the best competition age of 7-13 years old.

"Their average height is 1.7 meters, head height is over 2 meters, and jumping pole height is over 1.3 meters. They can cooperate with riders in many difficult movements during equestrian performances," Zhang added.

In order to take good care of these horses, a team composed of professional horsemen, coaches and veterinarians is responsible for raising and training.

Zhang said, "We get up early every day, and cannot rest until 9 p.m. Horses are looked after 2-3 times every night."

"These horses eat four nutritious meals a day, mainly hay. We also provide small snacks such as carrots and fruits as training awards. Horses also enjoy bath, massage, nursing and hair trimming services," Zhang said.

The 7th Military World Games, a multi-sports event organized every four years since 1995, will be held in Wuhan from Oct. 18 to 27, 2019.
