PHNOM PENH, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- About 50 pieces of paintings, photos, and embroidery featuring the intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities in southwest China are on display for the first time at the China Cultural Center here on Wednesday.

Khlot Thyda, an advisor to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, presided over the opening ceremony of the event. Tibetan Thangka paintings and embroidery made by Qiang ethnic minority people are among artworks exhibited at the event.

Visitors said the exhibition not only promoted the colorful culture of ethnic minorities in southwest China, but also contributed to deepening people-to-people relations between China and Cambodia.

"The paintings on display here are unique, amazing and attractive," Chhan Sopheara, a 19-year-old female visitor, told Xinhua.

"It's good, we can better understand the culture of ethnic minorities in China," said another 19-year-old exhibition-goer Tim Liza.
