KATHMANDU, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), the national flag carrier of the Himalayan nation, took delivery of all six Chinese-made planes after two new Y-12e planes arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The state-owned NAC airline had signed a commercial agreement with China's AVIC International Aero-Development to procure six aircraft - two 56-seater MA60 and four 17-seater Y-12e in November 2012.

Of them, the NAC has already received two MA60 and two Y-12e by February last year and are conducting domestic flights.

"Two new Y-12e planes landed at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu by 1:40 p.m. local time on Tuesday," Rabindra Shrestha, spokesperson of the NAC, told Xinhua.

A team of NAC left for China to take delivery of the two remaining Chinese-made Y-12e planes on Jan. 30. With the new planes, the NAC has planned to fly them to some faraway cities, including Dang in the mid-western region and Janakpur in eastern region and some remote airports.

NAC officials said the Chinese planes would not only enhance reliability of its flights schedule but also help increase its domestic market share significantly.
