LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- More than 200 Chinese exhibitors took part in the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show that concluded Sunday in the U.S. state of California, marking a substantial increase from a decade ago, industry representatives said.

The NAMM show is one of the world's biggest music industry trade shows, and this year's events lasted four days, featuring some 7,000 brands, more than 2,000 exhibitors and a record-breaking crowd of at least 100,000 attendees from more than 120 countries and regions. Over 400 of the exhibitors took part in the NAMM show for the first time.

Chinese companies took a strong foothold at the NAMM show. More and more Chinese companies involved in the annual event expanded their influence by attracting international partners and foreign consumers.

"As China's relations with the world grow, more and more foreigners are eager to know more about the Chinese culture. That's why more attendees are interested in China's traditional music instruments such as Erhu, Guqin, Pipa and so on," Yang Yuqing, manager assistant of Shanghai No.1 National Musical Instruments Factory, told Xinhua.

There were only no more than 10 Chinese exhibitors at the NAMM show ten years ago, but now more than 200 Chinese exhibitors have come to show their ambition and the progress of the Chinese music industry, said Wang Yingyao, project manager of CIEC Exhibition Co., Ltd, a major organizer of the Chinese exhibition at the NAMM show.

"The NAMM show has witnessed the improvement of the competitiveness of Chinese musical instrument products in the past ten years," She added.
