RIO DE JANEIRO, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Palmeiras is in advanced negotiations with Nottingham Forest to sign Paraguay international winger Ramon Sosa, according to widespread media reports.
The Brazilian Serie A club has submitted an offer of 11 million euros (around 13 million U.S. dollars) to secure the 25-year-old on a long-term deal, news outlet Estadao reported.
Sosa has made 23 appearances for Forest, scoring three goals and providing one assist, since his August 2024 move from Argentine side Talleres Cordoba.
His contract with the Premier League outfit is due to run until June 2029.
Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira has prioritized the signing of an attacking player following the departure of Estevao to Chelsea and news that Paulinho will undergo shin surgery.
Brazil's mid-season transfer window runs from July 10 to September 2. ■
