SEOUL, June 11 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in planned to give his message Monday ahead of the summit between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States, slated for Tuesday in Singapore, the Blue House of South Korea said.

Kim Eui-kyeom, Moon's spokesman, told a press briefing that the South Korean leader will tell the historical meaning of and his anticipation and hope for the DPRK-U.S. summit during a meeting with his senior secretaries later in the day.

Top DPRK leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump converged Sunday in Singapore for the first-ever meeting in history between the DPRK's top leader and a sitting U.S. president, scheduled for 9 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

The Blue House spokesman said he understood that the working-level talks would go on in Singapore on Monday between Sung Kim, U.S. ambassador to the Philippines and former U.S. ambassador to South Korea, and Choe Son Hui, DPRK's vice foreign minister.
