KIEV, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Boryspil International Airport, Ukraine's largest airport, has achieved record revenue of 152 million U.S. dollars in 2017, the Kiev-based Center for Transport Strategies said in a statement on Monday.

In 2017, Boryspil served 10.6 million passengers, up 22.1 percent year on year, due to which the airport's earnings last year increased by 13.3 percent compared with 2016, according to the statement.

As a result, it ranked the third among middle-sized European airports in terms of fastest traffic growth in the Airports Council International ranking.

The authorities have set a target to increase Boryspil's passenger traffic to 20 million by 2023, for which the airport plans to attract a 224-million-dollar investment for its infrastructure modernization.

As Ukraine's busiest airport located 20 km southeast of Kiev, Boryspil covers more than 60 percent of the passenger traffic in the country and provides service for 50 international and domestic airlines operating on about 100 routes.
