YANGON, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Kachin Independence Army (KIA), one of the non-ceasefire signatories to Myanmar government's Nationwide Ceasefire Accord (NCA), has been attacking the regional military headquarters and some security camps in the northernmost Kachin state over the past four days, local media reported Sunday.

Injuries have been reported as dozens of the armed militants fired with small arms and heavy guns about 2,300 meters from the military headquarters in Moekaung township in Myitgyina, Myanmar News Agency reported Sunday.

The firing have occurred on a daily basis since Wednesday until Saturday, the report said.

Meanwhile, conflicts also occurred between the military and the ethnic armed group in Sumprabum, Waingmaw and Tanai townships in the same state over the same period, trapping over 150 civilians in Tanai but they have been rescued and sent back home by the military, other reports said.
